Coating thickness gauges TIME®2500 and TIME®2501
TIME®2500 / TIME®2501: Coating thickness gauges for Fe and NFe with integrated probe

TIME®2500 / TIME®2501

Compact coating thickness measurement on ferrous and non-ferrous metals

The coating thickness gauges TIME®2500 and TIME®2501 measure coatings non-destructively. The TIME®2500 works on the magnetic induction principle (probe F) and measures non-magnetic coatings on magnetic base materials such as iron, steel and nickel. The TIME®2501 works on the eddy current principle (probe N) and measures insulating coatings on non-magnetic metals such as copper, aluminium, zinc and tin.

Both gauges are very compact with an integrated probe and are suitable for testing painted surfaces, automotive paint inspection and on-site quality control.

Properties of the TIME®2500 / TIME®2501

  • compact: probe and gauge of the TIME®2500 / TIME®2501 form one unit
  • zero-point and two-point calibration to correct the system error of the probe
  • two working modes: DIRECT and BATCH, two measuring ways: CONTINUE and SINGLE
  • statistics: mean, maximum, minimum, number of readings and standard deviation
  • memory for 500 readings
  • deletion of current data, calibration data, limit data or all stored data
  • low battery indication and error alarm
  • buzzer signal and backlit display
  • automatic or manual shutdown
  • printer TA230 optional

Measuring principles of the TIME®2500 / TIME®2501

  • TIME®2500 - magnetic induction (F): non-magnetic coating (e.g. paint, plastic, enamel, copper, zinc, aluminium, chrome) on a magnetic base material (e.g. iron, steel, nickel)
  • TIME®2501 - eddy current (N): insulating coating (e.g. enamel, rubber, paint, plastic) on non-magnetic metals (e.g. copper, aluminium, zinc, tin)
  • zero-point and two-point calibration compensate the system error of the probe
