TIME®3234

The TIME®3234 is a portable stylus instrument for measuring surface roughness, waviness and primary profile, with a separate driver unit – suitable for workshop, laboratory and metrology center. The wide measuring range of 1000 µm with a tracing length of up to 50 mm, the 5.7-inch TFT touch screen and the fast Linux operating system enable precise and comfortable evaluation. Results are shown digitally and graphically, can be printed or analyzed on a PC with the optional software.

Measurement principle

During measurement, the stylus is moved linearly along the tracing length by the separate driver unit. The stylus follows the surface profile and moves up and down. These movements are converted into electrical signals, amplified, filtered and digitized by an A/D converter. A microprocessor calculates the surface profile and separates it with Gauss or 2RC filters into roughness, waviness and primary profile (R, W, P). The parameters are then calculated according to ISO1997, JIS2001, ANSI and SEP1941-2012 and shown together with the profile curves on the 5.7-inch touch screen.
