Ultrasonic Wall Thickness Gauge with Through-Coating Measurement

TIME®2136

The TIME®2136 from Beijing Time High Technology Ltd. is an advanced ultrasonic wall thickness gauge that measures through coated or painted surfaces using a dual-element probe in echo-echo mode. The display resolution is up to 0.001 mm, and the probe is detected automatically.

Typical applications include wall thickness testing of pipelines and pressure vessels, quality control of forged and cast parts, corrosion inspection of ship hulls and bottoms, as well as routine maintenance of roads and bridges.

Properties

  • Measures through coated surfaces, eliminating paint thickness via a dual-element probe in echo-echo mode
  • Automatic detection of the standard probe, or manual probe frequency presetting
  • Probe TSTU32 optional for cast iron
  • Connection to PC via RS232 interface
  • Presettable upper/lower limits with acoustic alarm
  • Differential mode displays deviation from the user-set target range
  • Memory for up to 500 measured values
  • Resolution of 0.001 mm and 0.01 mm selectable

Applications

By using wall thickness gauges, materials that are exposed to corrosion or erosion can be monitored, ensuring the safe use of, for example, a pressure vessel.
