To measure Rz and Ra parameters

TIME®3100

The TIME®3100 is a compact, portable surface roughness tester for everyday use in production, workshops, and laboratories. Thanks to its pocket-sized design and intuitive operation, it is ideal for fast quality checks directly on the workpiece.

Properties

  • Two OLED displays (front and top) for optimal readability
  • Robust and compact pocket-sized housing
  • Measurement of roughness parameters Ra and Rz
  • Configurable limits with automatic pass/fail alert
  • Piezoelectric probe with diamond stylus
  • Rechargeable lithium-ion battery
  • Compliant with ISO and DIN standards

Measurement principle

During the measurement process, the sensor is moved linearly along the probing path. The probe follows the profile of the probing path and moves up and down. These movements are converted into electrical signals, which are then amplified, filtered, and converted into digital values using an A/D converter. Based on these values, a mathematical representation of the profile is created using a microprocessor. Based on this representation, the Ra and Rz values (or Rq and Rt values) are then calculated according to the relevant standards and displayed on the screen.
