Ultrasonic Wall Thickness Gauge with B-Scan for Corrosion Inspection

TIME®2180B

The TIME®2180B by Beijing Time High Technology Ltd. is a professional ultrasonic wall thickness gauge for non-destructive wall thickness measurement and corrosion inspection. Based on the pulse-echo principle, it reliably detects corrosion, wall loss, erosion and thickness variations - even through coatings, without removing them.

The color TFT display with integrated B-scan function allows material changes along a measurement path to be visualized immediately, making large-area corrosion surveys significantly easier. With measurement rates of up to 20 readings per second and storage for up to 50,000 readings, the device is particularly well suited for extensive corrosion mapping and long-term monitoring of assets in mining as well as in the oil and gas industry.

Properties

  • B-scan imaging for corrosion detection
  • Measurement through coatings without removing them
  • Automatic probe recognition and self-calibration
  • Dynamic compensation for probe replacement and couplant variations
  • Three measurement modes: Pulse-Echo (T-E), Interface-Echo (I-E), Echo-Echo (E-E)
  • Fast measurement mode with up to 20 measurements per second
  • Data storage for up to 50,000 readings
  • Color TFT display for good readability
  • USB interface for PC communication, can also be used for power supply
  • Compact and rugged for mobile use in mining as well as the oil and gas industry

Applications

By using wall thickness gauges, materials that are exposed to corrosion or erosion can be monitored, ensuring the safe use of, for example, a pressure vessel.
